Malahayati, The First Moslem Woman Admiral in The World. Part 3- Tribute and Honor

Nowadays numerous colleges, medical and hospital facilities, streets and Sumatran urban areas are named after her. The seaport in Teluk Krueng Raya, Aceh Besar is named with Malahayati Harbor. During the new orde of Indonesia, one of the warships of the type of Destroyer (FREGAT) of Fatahillah class belonging to the Navy, named KRI Malahayati. These warships were made at the Wilton-Fijenoord shipyard, Schiedam, Holland in 1980, specifically for the Indonesian Navy. In education, there is Malahayati University located in Bandar Lampung. A movie series admiral Malahayati who narrates the Malahayati memoirs was made in 2007. The name Malahayati is also used by the Democratic National Organization as the female division’s name with the full name of “Garda Wanita Malahayati”.

Malahayati, The First Moslem Woman Admiral in The World. Part 2- Against the Invaders

In 1585-1604, she held the position of Chief of Guard of the Palace of the Secret Commander and Commander of the Government Protocol from Sultan Saidil Mukammil Alauddin Riayat Syah IV. Inspired by herself, she start her career to build a troop of soldiers were made up of around 2000 widows (where the husband martyred against the invaders) who came to be known as Inong Balee troops, Malahayati was appointed as the first admiral led many different victorius battles against the Dutch and Portuguese. Malahayati, The First Moslem Woman Admiral in The World. Part 1- Early Life

Keumalahayati famous known by Malahayati, is one of the fighter women from the Sultanate of Aceh. Her father was named Admiral Mahmud Syah. Her grandfather from her father’s line was Admiral Muhammad Said Syah, the child of Sultan Salahuddin Syah who managed around 1530-1539 M. The Sultan Salahuddin Syah was the child of Sultan Ibrahim Ali Mughayat Syah (1513-1530 AD), who was the originator of the Sultanate of Aceh Darussalam.
